5 Things Men Do Instinctively If They’re Into You

A woman is capable of giving off approximately 50 different signals through body language, whereas the less complex gentleman is only able to muster around 10. This makes men easier to understand. Females are better at picking up and understanding signals. Guys’ interpretations are based more on what they hear than what they see. The most important body language for both sexes is eye contact. If you want to deliver a message without speaking you would hold someone’s eyes. The danger is it makes you look crazy if you hold it too long. You therefore need to time it perfectly.

The Flirting Triangle

A clear sign of things men do instinctively when they’re into you is what is known as the flirting triangle. It’s looking to each eye, down to her mouth and then back up to her eyes to reconnect. At any given opportunity where he thinks you aren’t looking he will check you out. Sometimes even when you are talking to him or when he’s talking, he will quickly glance at you. Most men naturally have a short attention span, and somehow think that they are subtle.

Eye movement studies show we look at different parts of other people’s faces depending on the situation and level of attractiveness. When looking at strangers or in business situations, we make a small triangle by moving our eyes from eye to eye, dipping them as we move across the bridge of the nose. With friends or in more friendly social situations, the triangle widens as our eyes drop below eye level to include the nose and the mouth.

With lovers and people we fancy, the triangle broadens even further, dropping below the mouth to include the breasts and other good bits. The more intense the flirting, the more concentrated the eye contact becomes at certain parts of the triangle. Eye to eye contact becomes fast, furious and constant, seconded by long periods spent staring at the mouth. Our eyes spend the rest of the time making little side journeys to the bits at the bottom of the triangle.

Mirroring

Mirroring is something that can only be done subconsciously because it’s painfully obvious when they do it on purpose. This is when they copy the movements that you do, as it makes them seem relatable in your head, along with establishing an equal stance. You cross your arms in disinterest, so do they. This is exactly why we find mirrors so irresistible and can’t help but stare for hours at a time at it.

The Strutting Peacock Stance

Another one of the things men do is to hold their shoulders back. They breathe in and sort of puff themselves up, imagine a strutting peacock. He adopts a cowboy pose – hands on hips and thumbs in belt loops.

Their Voice Gets Higher

When we talk to someone we fancy our voices go to a higher pitch. If the person you are talking to sounds like nails on a chalkboard, they’re madly in love with you.

Blinking Quickly

If they’re batting their eyes at you a weird amount it’s because their brain just can’t handle how good you look. The faster they blink the more they like you.

It’s easy to see where the term ‘batting your eyelashes’ originated from. If someone looks at us and likes what they see, they tend to blink more. Because the brain associates rapid blinking with finding someone sexually attractive, the more you blink at someone, the more attracted you feel to them.

This, of course, can be manipulated for your benefit! You can increase the blink rate of the person you’re talking to, by blinking more yourself. If the person likes you. They’ll unconsciously try to match their blink rate to keep in sync with you. Which in turn, makes you both feel more attracted to each other!
