Super Quick 2 Minute Chocolate Cake

This 2 Minute Chocolate Cake is a very tasty and quick cake that’s made in a mug. It’s cooked in the microwave and you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen already. A mug cake is a real homemade cake using all the ingredients you would put in a regular cake. However, it takes a fraction of the time and is cooked in a mug in the microwave. The only equipment you require is a mug and a fork. There’s no need to weigh anything – all the quantities are given in spoonfuls. Many of us have succumbed to the lure of instant cake. There is something satisfyingly indulgent about piling spoonfuls of sugar and flour into a mug, then watching a perfectly risen cup come out of the microwave five minutes later.

Chocolate mug cakes couldn’t be easier to make, and are perfect if you fancy a little treat, as they’re just the right quantity for one person. Using your microwave you can whip one of these up in just 2 minutes. For a fun Easter twist you can add Mini Eggs to stir through the mixture, you could use anything you have to hand. Crushed up Flakes would also be delicious. You can enjoy these mini chocolate mug cakes just as they are, or you can treat yourself to an even more indulgent dessert by topping them with ice cream once they’re ready. They’ll be nice and warm so expect things to melt and mix together. We think these chocolate mug cakes are a fun project to do with kids, so they can add their own favourite treats to the mixture and pick their own mug.
