Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 11

Planning ahead and doing a little bit at a time leaves a lot more time to enjoy yourself and just makes the general day to day running of life so much easier. You also can save money by being prepared through the year. Every Friday we’ll post a list of Organised Family Life Hacks that we’ve compiled over the years. If you have any of your own to add, please comment below. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you suggest!

  • Post-Holiday Laundry Hack here – dump all the laundry in a blue Ikea Bag. Take to Launderette for a service wash. Pick up the next day. Yes it is £20-30 but does it ever preserve the back-from-holiday relaxation feel. And prevents the sick feeling of seeing the laundry mountain in front of the machine. It is now part of our vacation budget!

  • I batch prepare and freeze bags of veggies/ spices. Then, in the morning I dump it in the slow cooker with a little stock and some fresh meat. Doesn’t always have to be soup or stew, I like to make: pulled pork, chilli con carne, fajitas, braised beef etc.

  • When I make pastry, I use a potato masher to work the butter into the flour.
