The adorable Little Alf was created by Hannah Russell at the age of 17 years old in 2014. The name and idea came from Hannah’s mini Shetland pony who has dwarfism. Little Alf came to live with Hannah in December 2013, and since then she has started to write a book series based on Little Alf with the first book being published in 2014, ‘The magical adventure of Little Alf – The discovery of the wild pony.’ Hannah has also designed two super cute logos which are found on her clothing and accessories range via their online shop. Fabulously, Hannah also supports the Riding for Disabled Association through her work and is also an active volunteer at the centre.
Personally, Shetland ponies are our absolute favourite! We’ve spent countless afternoons with these little beauties and I can’t think of a better cheeky character for an engaging children’s book. They really are a fabulous read, they are cleverly written in such a captivating way that children can relate to.
