Review & Giveaway: Rose Gold Oral-B Genius 9000 Electric Toothbrush

This is an absolutely amazing electric toothbrush with position detection technology that helps you know where you’ve brushed so you never miss a zone! It includes a smart travel case with an extra USB port to charge both your phone and toothbrush with 1 plug.

The dentist-inspired round brush head oscillates, rotates and pulsates to break up and remove plaque. It polishes for whiter teeth starting from day 1 and makes gums healthier.

The first thing I love is the travel case, I can travel and use the case charging not only my toothbrush but also my other USB device too. Then it gives you 4 brush heads, which is good as it means it’s roughly about a 1 year supply if I change them every 3 months.

After using for 2 months, I can say my teeth definitely look a lot cleaner than before. I use it with the apps, as I want to make sure I am doing everything right. Not that I need apps to supervise my tooth cleaning, but it does help to identify which area I haven’t covered when doing cleaning. The apps help motivate me to keep on following my routine, at least every time I clean my teeth now is exceeding 2 minutes. With manual tooth brushing I wouldn’t have the same patience I believe.

I love that it came with so many brush heads, the different modes and that it notifies me when to move on to the next part of my mouth. It’s great that it can connect to my phone with blue tooth, and that I can customise the LED colours.

The toothbrush itself is noticeably lighter than the previous model. At full charge, the battery lasts about a week with twice a day two minute brushing. From empty, a full charge takes about 11-12 hours. The battery indicator gives at least two days use before it conks out. I only really use two of the modes – the basic one and sensitive (which I tend to use for a few days at the point I change to a new brush head).

The pressure indicator if you are pressing too hard, which I can be prone to do, is useful (but this is available on several cheaper models). The travel case is great. Lovely to look at and very sturdy, with room for two heads, if you should share a base. I do think that I get a better clean with the 9000 than I did with previous models. But this may just be my imagination or because I switched to the Cross Action head not long after starting to use this.

The colour is gorgeous and it is great to have a choice of brush heads – they may not all be right for you, but at least you can try a range and find the one you want. For me, what makes this brush so good is that it does what it is meant to do! It cleans my teeth really well!
