Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 5
Planning ahead and doing a little bit at a time leaves a lot more time to enjoy yourself and just makes the general day to day running of life so much easier. You also can save money by being prepared through the year. Every Friday we’ll post a list of Organised Family Life Hacks that we’ve compiled over the years. If you have any of your own to add, please comment below. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you suggest!
- If you buy the packs of fresh chilli peppers from the supermarket, store them in the freezer in a small lidded plastic tub, and then just use one or two when needed. There’s no need to defrost them either; run them under the tap to wash and job done.
- Freezing bits is really very useful. I only ever use a stick or two of celery at a time, so finely cut up the rest and freeze it. Any time I need some to go in a bolognese, soup or stew, I just take a handful from the bag in the freezer.
- Bananas nearing the end also go in the freezer for milkshakes and smoothies.
- We are also big on getting ready ahead of time. So packing bags the night before. Getting breakfasts laid out on the worktop, lunches made etc before we go to bed.
