Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 16, 2019

Planning ahead and doing a little bit at a time leaves a lot more time to enjoy yourself and just makes the general day to day running of life so much easier. You also can save money by being prepared through the year. Every Friday we’ll post a list of Organised Family Life Hacks that we’ve compiled over the years. If you have any of your own to add, please comment below. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you suggest!

  • I always recommend a Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner. For some reason it was a big hassle to me getting the big one out and plugging in the cord, this one I just grab and whiz about for a few minutes. But the battery only lasts for ten minutes you say? That’s what’s great about it! Knowing no matter what, I will only be doing this chore for a maximum of ten minutes means it doesn’t seem arduous and I have no problem doing it any time I have a few minutes to spare. If I don’t finish all the rooms, I just do different ones next time.

  • At least once a week, make a meal whose leftovers can be turned into something else e.g. Bolognese that can be turned into chilli. It is cheap and saves time at least once a week!

  • Buy two bulbs of garlic and peel and blend them with olive oil, chilli, salt and pepper. Store in a jar in the fridge. It’s an instant marinade for meat, halloumi, veg, and a base for so many meals.
