Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 13, 2019
Planning ahead and doing a little bit at a time leaves a lot more time to enjoy yourself and just makes the general day to day running of life so much easier. You also can save money by being prepared through the year. Every Monday we’ll post a list of Organised Family Life Hacks that we’ve compiled over the years. If you have any of your own to add, please comment below. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you suggest!
- Have a pretty basket at the bottom of the stairs for things that need to go upstairs and encourage family members to take it up with them when they are going anyway.
- I always spell my name a slightly different way on sign up forms, think Lokwood rather than Lockwood, anything addressed the wrong way goes in the bin.
- Meal planning: always try and cook and plan meals so that you cook once and serve twice. For example, ratatouille with say lamb chops one night, and blend ratatouille to make pasta sauce the next night. Introduce veggie Thursdays and fishy Fridays to help balance your diets.
- For infants; you can buy elastic with buttonholes sewn-in at approx one cm intervals. Sew four buttons securely on your child’s coat: one at neck, one on the collar, and one at each sleeve. Sew one button each on your child’s scarf, hat and gloves. Attach all the clothing items to the coat using the holed elastic, so that the scarf, gloves and hat stay permanently attached to the coat and stay with it every time it is taken off and put on.
More great hacks. I love the sign up forms trick.
I always try to batch bake and freeze
