Music I’m Loving Right Now – Christina Rubino – ‘Down to the Sea’

Today I’d like to talk to you about Brooklyn singer / songwriter Christina Rubino, I first started watching her videos on YouTube a little while ago and I think I pretty much became a fan instantly. She is just so unlike anything that’s out there at the moment, that you can’t help but take notice. I absolutely adore her new track ‘Down to the Sea’ and I love the video directed by Frankie Nasso. I can’t wait for her upcoming full length album ‘Godspeed and Guns’ set for release on Valentines Day, February 14th 2017.

This is quite possibly one of the best female writers I’ve come across in a really long time, whose powerful and unique androgynous voice is only matched by her instrumentals. You will get lost in this track, you’ll most definitely be swept away because it takes you places you can’t even imagine.

This is actually one of those songs that can literally give me goosebumps, not from the lyrics but just from the sound in general. You know how you get goosebumps from listening to music that you love? I do not know why I haven’t come across her before now. It’s music for the soul, for grown ups. It’s music for people who have had their hearts torn out of their chests and shredded, and then put themselves back together again, all by themselves.

You’ve just gotta love this woman. She is fantastic. The amount of energy she puts into it is contagious. Her clothing and make-up are superb. She pulls you in from the first note and keeps you hooked to the last. It’s no surprise really that Guitar Girl Mag listed her as one of the top 10 artists to watch in 2015.

If you enjoy this track as much as I do, you can keep up to date with her latest offerings by following her on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and their Instagram.
