What Is a Vision Board?

I’m sure you probably already know by now what a vision board is. But, if you do not, a vision board is a board on which you place images of what you want in your life. They might be pictures of experiences, items, places or people. You can do it the old fashioned way by cutting pictures out of magazines and sticking or pinning them onto a wall or a pin board. Or you can use one of the many free mobile apps to create one.

Firstly, for a vision board to work, you need to think about what it is you really want to have in your life. Now, the image of that is going to look very different for each of you. For some people, their board may be filled with expensive material items, for others it may be more about experiences or their career. However, most people will end up with a mixture.

The key here, is that you do it. I don’t want you to procrastinate with this one, no excuses. This is a task I want you to do for yourself, because you deserve it. I can guarantee that if a friend needed help sticking pictures to a board for herself, you’d drop everything to help her. Or if your kid came home from school and needed help with a poster for homework, you’d get it done! So, why are you even considering not doing this for yourself?

Personally, I’ve had countless examples of my visions coming to fruition with the help of a vision board. Everything from designer bags, to cars and exclusive schools. I like to use the “Feng Shui Bagua Map” on my board to keep it simple. It looks like this:

Okay, so when you’re done putting together your board I want you to put it somewhere that you’ll see it every single day. Maybe in your bedroom so that it’s the last thing you see before you go to sleep and the first thing you see in the morning? If you’ve chosen to create your vision board with the help of a vision board app. Then make sure you also save the image somewhere you can see it every day. Perhaps as the wallpaper on your phone or iPad?

Remember, a mental picture is worth a thousand words

Your intuitive mind will deliver any picture held in the mind backed by belief. Treat your mind like you’re online shopping, but don’t ever tell yourself “I can’t afford that”. Well, not unless you never actually want to be able to afford it! Search through the retail website of your dreams and hand select the things you want in your life.

The universe will start to rearrange itself to make it happen for you! Most of us have never allowed ourselves to desire what we really want because we can’t see how we’re going to get it. If you do just a little research you’ll see that anyone who ever achieved any of their dreams did not know how they were going to do it, they only knew they were going to do it! Trust me, you don’t need to know how it’s going to happen, you don’t need to know how the universe is going to rearrange itself. That isn’t your job. All you have to do is visualise what you want. You become and attract what you think about most, and a vision board is both a simple and powerful way to start.
