Sprouts with Lemon and Macadamia Nuts
Lemony Brussels sprouts with nuts make an easy side dish that’s super easy and pleasantly surprising! These are, by far, the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had. My family raved and raved about them to everyone. They were nutty, a little sweet and pretty.
- 650g sprouts
- 1tbsp olive oil
- 4 rashers of streaky bacon
- 40g macadamia nuts
- Zest of half a lemon
- Steam the sprouts until tender and drain. Halve the larger sprouts.
- Toast macadamia nuts in a dry frying pan, and chop coarsely once cool.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, add 4 chopped rashers of streaky bacon and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add sprouts, nuts and the lemon zest. Cook until nicely coloured.
