Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 4

Organised Family Life Hacks – Part 4

Planning ahead and doing a little bit at a time leaves a lot more time to enjoy yourself and just makes the general day to day running of life so much easier. You also can save money by being prepared through the year. Every Friday we’ll post a list of Organised Family Life Hacks that we’ve compiled over the years. If you have any of your own to add, please comment below. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you suggest!

  • A load of laundry a day keeps the chaos at bay. After each wash load, do a second cycle on ‘spin’ only, it reduces drying time dramatically.

  • Buy loads of school uniform, including vests and socks. More than you think you’ll need. It’s so cheap these days. Who wants to wait for a wash load to put it in the dryer at 10pm because you’ve run out of polo shirts that cost a quid in Sainsbury’s? I also always have two PE kits prepared, ready to go in a bag.

  • If you run out of Tupperware to store stuff to freeze in, put it in zip lock bags instead. If it’s soup /pasta sauce etc, once defrosted just snip the corner off and squeeze into a pan, rather than fiddling opening the top of the bag. Less mess.

  • Keep a pair of scissors in a drawer in every room in the house so you don’t have to hunt round for them. IKEA sells three pairs of really good scissors for less than a pound.
