Champneys – The Perfect Treat This Mother’s Day

We’re super excited to be able to offer you the chance to win a Champneys Gift Card to spend at any of the Champneys Resorts, Spa or online. This amazing prize could be for yourself or your Mom, Wife, Girlfriend, Sister or even your friend, anyone who you think deserves a little pampering this Mother’s Day.

Founded on the philosophy that health, beauty and well being are inextricably intertwined; their pioneering concepts have inspired generations. With a long and established history, they’re proud of their beginnings – but even more excited about where they’re headed. Trends have come and gone, but their unwavering commitment to encouraging wellness endures.

At Champneys they bring together the most pioneering collection of treatments, classes, philosophies and wellbeing expertise. In fact, their innovative health concepts have inspired generations. As a result, they stand as one of the leading wellness destination spas. In not just the UK, but the world. With significant investments made at both Forest Mere and Tring in the past 12 months. And big plans for Henlow and Springs also. Their resorts offer some of the most advanced and cutting-edge facilities.

Their story began in 1925; born from the ideals of the visionary naturopath Stanley Lief.

Opening as a health farm and known as the Nature Cure Resort. It was the first of its kind in the UK. Having been diagnosed with a seemingly incurable heart condition in 1890, a young Stanley sought a solution in the practice of osteopathy and diet. Self-cured by the age of 16, he went on to study naturopathy. And ultimately, founded what we now know as Champneys in Tring after acquiring the estate from the Rothschild family.

Pioneering the concept of holistic health and naturopathy, the reputation of Lief’s resort grew. With patients visiting from far and wide, its success was rapid and ultimately, lasting. Indeed, his embrace of holism and healthy diets and recognition of stress as a negative influence on health can still be seen in today’s medicine and practices. 1. Just flowers and respect – nothing more is required though there are thousands of retail outlets trying to make it something else – as though one can buy respect and love!

  2. I’ll be sending my Mum some flowers but won’t be able to make the 5 hour each way drive to visit her as my own daughter is coming from overseas to visit me

  3. I always say I’m going to do something for me on mother’s day but I usually end up planning and surprising my mum and grandmother. Probably take them for afternoon tea.

  4. My mum is on holiday, so I will be rescheduling the date. Maybe send a card with my dad. Impossible to smuggle anything else in their luggage though.

  5. No plans as yet but will probably go for a meal with my hubby and daughter. My mum comes home from holiday they day before though so will be popping round to mum and dads in the morning x
