Breakfast

Make a special “14 Reasons I Love You” Valentine’s Day breakfast for your sweetheart. On his/her plate, leave a letter or card listing 14 reasons that you love your spouse.

Surprise

Surprise your spouse by taking a vacation day from work and enjoy Valentine’s Day at home. Have a relaxing morning together on the porch, deck, or patio. Then go to a favorite restaurant for lunch.

Love Notes

Hide a love note in her bag. It doesn’t have to be long, poetic or fancy. Just a simple note that says, “I love you,” can mean the world to her because it’s from you. Hide it in her bag, her purse, her pocket or some other place you know she’ll check before the day is through.

Fill A Jar

With Valentine sweets and notes for your spouse. Examples of notes are: Good for a backrub, 10 kisses, etc. Notes could also express your love and respect: “I am so glad that God blessed my life with such a great husband like you.” Individually roll each note and tie it with a ribbon.

Sweets

Hide little heart sweets in your spouse’s shoes, coat, car, etc.

Stay In

Create an intimate Valentine’s Day evening at home. Enjoy planning the menu, shopping for the meal, and ultimately preparing the meal together. Dinner can be followed by just the two of you having the whole dance floor to yourselves. A romantic night that would not have happened at the local restaurant!

Surprise Her

The nature of the surprise isn’t important. Maybe you get her a bouquet of flowers or you ask her out for lunch or you come home early from work. Any kind of surprise is sure to be appreciated.

Go On A Date

To a restaurant that you enjoyed when you first met. After you order your meal, take some time to write down favorite memories from the past year. Then share your lists.

Ice-Skating

If romantic comedies have taught us anything, it is that skating rinks breed romance. So go have yourself a Serendipity moment and spend the day ice-skating —don’t forget the cocoa!

A Dozen Roses

On each stem attach a note for a future date—to do something that she would enjoy. (For example, “Go to the movies.”)

Coupon Books

It’s true, coupon books are hardly a new concept, but who doesn’t want his Valentine’s gift to last all year? Make them a coupon book for things like fresh-baked cupcakes, a movie night or a massage—and feel free to spice it up!

Scavenger Hunt

Ask them to answer riddles to find the clues to items that you placed somewhere around town. The last item should give instructions that lead to your Valentine’s Day activities.

Make A Book

About why you love them and why you are thankful for him/her.

Ask Her To Dance

You may not love dancing, but there are few women who would say no if their husband were to ask them to dance. Turn on a song that reminds you of your wedding or your first date and reminisce about those memories while you turn slowly on the spot. Candlelight makes dancing more romantic, too.
