Okay, today we’re getting into one of my favourite topics ever: signs someone is trying to contact you through dreams. And yes, it happens way more often than people realise.
Dreams are literally the one place where your conscious mind stops getting in the way. So if someone is thinking of you deeply, missing you, worrying about you, or holding something they haven’t said… that can absolutely show up in your dream space.
I’m not talking about random dreams. I’m talking about the ones that feel charged. The ones that feel like someone knocked on the door of your subconscious and you felt it in your actual chest the next morning.
Dreams can sometimes feel like someone’s energy is reaching for yours. And if you’ve ever tried intentionally connecting with someone through dreams, you’ll know how powerful that space can be.

So let’s talk about the signs, okay? If someone is trying to reach you, intentionally or unintentionally, your dreams will try to tell you.
Your dreams feel unusually vivid or “too real”
You know when you wake up and you’re like… “That wasn’t just a dream. That was something.” If someone’s energy is reaching for you, your subconscious becomes way more receptive.
The dream feels:
- clearer
- louder
- more emotional
- more like a memory than a dream
It’s the difference between watching a movie vs being in the scene.
They appear in dreams during emotionally charged moments
This is a big one.
People don’t show up in our dreams randomly, they show up when either:
- you are emotionally open
- they are emotionally open
- or something between you is unspoken
So if they appear during:
- stressful weeks
- lonely nights
- big life changes
- times you’re thinking about them
- times they’re thinking about you
…it’s very likely energetic contact, not coincidence.
You get dreams of them before they contact you in real life
This happens ALL the time and it still blows me away. When someone is on the verge of reaching out, their energy sort of “touches” yours first.
So you dream of them, then suddenly they text, call, view your story, or pop up in some weird way.
Energetically, they reached out first. Your dream just picked it up early.
You dream of their childhood version or a younger version of yourself
This one is subtle, but powerful.
When someone is trying to connect emotionally, your subconscious often strips away the adult layers and shows:
- a younger them
- a younger you
- a childhood home
- an early memory
It’s your mind saying: “The connection is deeper than the surface. Look underneath.”
People reach out through dreams on the level of their inner child, not their adult mask.

The dream has a “message feel”, even if nothing is said
Some dreams with someone in them feel like:
- a warning
- a memory
- a hug
- a reassurance
- a goodbye
- an “I miss you”
- an “I’m sorry”
- or a very specific emotion
Even if nobody speaks, the message comes through. You wake up knowing EXACTLY what they were trying to express.
You feel their presence when waking up
This is such a strong sign.
It’s that weird moment where you open your eyes and STILL feel them:
- their energy
- their voice
- their warmth
- their emotion
- the “afterglow” of them
It’s like they were just there and slipped out the second you woke up. When someone contacts you energetically, it lingers.
Their dream visits happen repeatedly over a short period
One dream = chance.
Two dreams = interesting.
Three dreams in a row?
Bestie… someone’s energy is tugging on yours.
Repeated dreams are usually:
- longing
- unresolved feelings
- worry
- emotional connection
- or spiritual closeness
It’s like they keep coming back because the “message” hasn’t landed yet.
You wake up with their emotion rather than yours
This is wild but true. One of the crazy signs someone is trying to contact you through dreams is that sometimes you wake up feeling:
- a sadness that isn’t yours
- a heaviness
- a longing
- a sense of love
- a wave of nostalgia
- or a peace that doesn’t match your life right now
That means you didn’t just dream about them, you dreamed with them. You felt their emotional state.
You feel a sudden urge to reach out, for no logical reason
This is energetic reciprocity. When someone reaches toward you in the dream space,
your energy naturally reaches back.
So you wake up with:
- a pull
- a curiosity
- a need to check on them
- a feeling something’s happening on their side
This is one of the clearest signs.
Final Thought
Dreams are one of the only places where:
- ego drops
- walls drop
- distance doesn’t matter
- and our emotions speak honestly
If someone is truly trying to reach you, your dreams will whisper it. Sometimes gently. Sometimes loudly. But the signs someone is trying to contact you through dreams will be there.
Pay attention to how you feel when you wake up. Your subconscious is usually far more honest than your mind.
