Review & Giveaway: Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector
If you’ve heard of Olaplex, you already know how amazing and powerful this product is for your hair. Firstly, Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector is not a conditioner. You will not feel a difference to your hair after leaving it on for 10 minutes, or over night particularly. This treatment repairs bonds and strengthens hair. It’s not designed to leave it soft after one use. I’ve nearly finished the bottle now which has lasted for about 3 treatments on shoulder length hair. The sides of my hair were weak, broke easily and were thin. What I (and my hairdresser) have noticed is that the sides are fuller and thicker and I get less breakage. I do not use this to condition my hair as it’s not designed for that, it will repair – not condition.
This is not a conditioner or thickener and although a small bottle it lasts well and repeated applications really help damaged hair. Although it is not a conditioner, I can actually feel and see the improvement when I use it. It does strengthen the hair, resurfacing it and adding resilience. For maximum benefits I have it on overnight and wash my hair in the morning. Also only a small amount of product is required as it does go a long way. The magic holds for about 5 -6 weeks!
How To Use
Step 1 Dampen your hair and towel-dry. Note: If your hair has product build-up, we recommend a single shampoo, then towel-dry to prepare the hair for your Olaplex® No.3 application.
Step 2 Apply 1-3 teaspoons of Olaplex® No.3 to the palm of your hand and distribute through your hair evenly; then comb through.
Step 3 Leave on for at least 10 minutes. We recommend leaving No.3 on for a minimum of 10 to 30 minutes.
Step 4 Rinse thoroughly and then use a high-quality shampoo and conditioner.
Use once a week for moderately damaged hair. For severely damaged hair, use 2-3 times per week until improvements are noticeable. Once healthy-looking hair is achieved, continue to use 1-2 times a month for maintenance.
It really does feel like silk after using this product, the condition has vastly improved. My hairdresser also uses a little in the salon when she does my hair and I always notice how much healthier and shinier it is. My hair is thick, long and I have a lot of it, and I use around a third of the bottle each time. I definitely feel this had made a difference to my hair. After the first night using it people actually commented the following day asking if I had had my hair done.
It feels so much smoother and easier to style when using this.
It’s expensive but definitely worth it. My hair has been bleached many times but after using this, my hair has been completely rejuvenated. It really is the best thing I’ve ever tried on my hair. Definitely going to keep using it, highly recommended to anyone who wants silky, soft and healthy hair!

I have very short hair so I just use a baby shampoo
I wash twice a week and never brush when wet : I use a comb
I leave conditioner in my hair for a few hours every so often as I’ve been told by a hairdresser that this will help keep my hair in good condition x
I used a mask on my hair that I leave on for at least 30 minutes, I also use a lot of oil to help my hair.
I use palmers coconut oil as an overnight hair mask my hair still feels amazing after 4 days and you don’t have to wash your hair all the time
I keep my hair in great condition very intermittently….I try to always use a good conditioner, but I need more for glossy locks. I am in harsh weather often so I wear a hat, but my hair is not as great as it used to be…..Is it an age thing do you think?
I try to minimise styling products/heat on weekends, wear my hair in plaits etc., (unless I’m going on a night out!)
Using heat protection products
I always use a de-tangle brush for getting any knots out, before I brush my hair, I am finding that I am not breaking my hair has much now. I have quite long hair
I only wash my hair a couple of times a week which i can get away with as I have quite dry hair. I also leave conditioner on overnight if I don’t have plans the next day or I apply coconut oil x
I wash my hair 3 times a week and do a weekly treatment mask also use heat protection sprays and serums. A good mask with cling film really replenishes split ends to!
